Born to Run

The book Born to Run was written by Michael Morpurgo. The story is about a boy called Patrick who jumps into a canal to try and save a bag full of little greyhound puppies. He begs and begs his parents to let him keep one of the puppies annd finally they give in, he called the greyhound Best Mate.


Peter and Best Mate were unseparable and spent all there time together at the park watchin Best Mate run.


However one day something horrible happens which seperates Best Mate and Peter forever. Best Mate starts a new life with Becky a young girl who lives at the kennels, as a race dog and he is renamed Bright Eyes, and he soon becomes the champion in almost all his races.


Although soon Bright Eyes and Becky are homeless and Bright Eyes is taken in by a man named Joe who runs a Baked Potatoe Van, and Bright Eyes is then renamed Paddywack, as he begins a new start to his new life !!!


I thought this book was really good, as it made me want to keep reading more to see what was going to happen next. I also liked this book because even though the greyhound had to overcome a lot of difficulties he was always very loyal to his owners.

Therefore I would rate this book a 4/5
