Dark Hearts Rising

The book Dark Hearts Rising was writen by Lee Monroe.

The book is about a girl called Jane who is in love with a a wolf boy called Luca. Luca is from Nissulum and they do not allow him to be seeing a mortal girl, so they are forced to break up.

Without Luca, Jane feels sad and alone. However when she goes off to Paris with her nan she meets a boy called Soren, who tells her he can help her find Luca, but she finds out he has been forced into marriage with a girl named Lila and Jane feels like just giving up.

Will Jane ever find Luca again, and will they ever be allowed to be together?

I thought the book Dark Hearts Rising was a really good book to read. This is because it was really interesting and always made me want to read more. I also found it really good because there were loads of twists and suprises in it, which made it even more interesting!

Overall I would give this book a 5/5!

She's no Angel

She's no Angel is about a girl called Lissie and her younger half-sister and brother. Lissie's mum and dad had divorced when she was younger, so she lives with her dad and see's her mum and stepdad on the weekends, however she hates it there!

With Lissies Dad gone on vacation with his new girlfriend, Lissie has to stay at her mum's house for two weeks. Unfortunately, Lissie's half-sister does all she can to make the two weeks pass as quickly as a life sentence. Lissie even thinks she wrecked the one thing that could have helped her maintain her sanity, her precious cello. But her horrible half-sister knows how to turn on the charm for everyone else, so no one believes her when she trys to tell them. How can Lissie possibly make everyone see what's really going on? I like this book because its really funny! I also like that you can sort of relate it to real life, when you have done notthing wrong but still get the blame for it.
However I thought it could of been better because parts of it were a bit boring.

Overall I would give this book a 7/10 !

Born to Run

The book Born to Run was written by Michael Morpurgo. The story is about a boy called Patrick who jumps into a canal to try and save a bag full of little greyhound puppies. He begs and begs his parents to let him keep one of the puppies annd finally they give in, he called the greyhound Best Mate.


Peter and Best Mate were unseparable and spent all there time together at the park watchin Best Mate run.


However one day something horrible happens which seperates Best Mate and Peter forever. Best Mate starts a new life with Becky a young girl who lives at the kennels, as a race dog and he is renamed Bright Eyes, and he soon becomes the champion in almost all his races.


Although soon Bright Eyes and Becky are homeless and Bright Eyes is taken in by a man named Joe who runs a Baked Potatoe Van, and Bright Eyes is then renamed Paddywack, as he begins a new start to his new life !!!


I thought this book was really good, as it made me want to keep reading more to see what was going to happen next. I also liked this book because even though the greyhound had to overcome a lot of difficulties he was always very loyal to his owners.

Therefore I would rate this book a 4/5

Running Wild

Running Wild is about a 9 year old boy called Will whose dad is killed by a bomb in Iraq. Will's school says that he should take some time off so, Will's grandma oraganise's a trip to send him and his mum to Indonesia, to take there mind off what had happened.

While they are in Indonesia, his mum tragically dies in a tsumani. The elephant that Will was on at the time, had sensed the tsumani and had ran into the jungle with Will.






Find out what happens to Will and the elephant when they are in the jungle by reading this book !!!!!!

I thought this book was really good because the story was written in 1st person, and you could really tell there emotions and how they were feeling.


I loved reading this book because I never knew what was going to happen next, although I didn't like it because I found it really sad when his parents died.

Love Aubrey

Love Aubrey is about a girl called Aubrey, who's had her heart broken when her mum had left her after something tragic had happened to her Dad and sister. Aubrey enjoys being on her own for a while, but soon she starts to feel lonely and unloved. Her Grandma then finds out Aubrey is on her own, and is worried, so she decides to take her back to her house to live with her.



At first she doesn't want to go out and play or do anything, moreover her only friend is a fish called Sammy, although she soon gets usest to her new home and starts to make friends.



Meanwhile her Grandma is trying to track down Aubreys mum. But will they be able to and will Aubrey her mum again?



I liked this book because even though it was sad, it still made me want to keep reading on untill I finished it.



The only thing I didn't like about Love Aubrey was that the beggining was not very intersting.



I would give this book an 8/10.

Kaspar Prince of Cats

This book is written by Michael Morpurgo.

It is about a boy named Johnny Trott who works as a bell boy at the Savoy hotel.
But when Johnny meets Kasper nothing will ever be the same again!
Kasper is a cat who first came to the Savoy Hotel in a Basket with his owner Countess Kandisky.
As soon as Johnny saw Kasper he absolutely adored him. Soon Johnny started looking after Kasper while the Countess was out, always having to be careful so he wouldn't get caught by the head house keeper, Skullface. Johnny never thought he'd have to look after Kasper forever !

Pretty soon, everything starts to change for Johnnny and Kasper as they go from hiding away in the servants attics, to going on an amazing adventure. But will Kaspar and Johnny survive theft, a rooftop rescue, a trip all around the world… and the sinking of the Titanic.

I thought this book was really good, my favourite part was when Johnny met a girl named Lizziebeth and they went through loads of adventures together. I liked this because it was exciting and interesting.

I thought the book could have been better if they had made the beginning more lively, because the first few pages were a bit boring and not very exciting.

My favourite character is Johnny because he is really brave, and very determined to look after Kasper and keep him safe no matter how much trouble he could get in.

I would give this book 4/5
